This week’s episode of The Woodcarvers Radio Show features two new songs from the band Woodcarves.
In the first, a group of Woodcarving players from the UK, the US and the UK meet up to create an original tune inspired by a favourite childhood memory.
The second, from a different group of players, is a modern take on a classic.
The two new Woodcarve songs were recorded in August, before the band’s second tour, which took place from August to October.
Woodcarver guitarist Tom Smith, who is also a member of the band, said the songs were all recorded in just two weeks.
“We’re really excited about the music we’ve been making and how it fits in with the style of music we play,” he said.
“I love the idea of having an album where you get a new album each time we play a new one.”
Smith said he had recorded two albums during Woodcarven’s current tour.
“That’s what we’re going to do for the next tour,” he added.
“We’re going back and forth between the albums that we’re doing now.”
For me, it’s all about getting that old familiar tune in there.
