Woodcarvers Randy Whiston and Patrick Damiaens have died.
Woodcarvers Whiston (left) and Patrick DeMariaens (right) have died at 86The Woodcarving Society in Melbourne says the pair died of natural causes.
The men were both from Melbourne and worked together in the past for over 20 years.
They are survived by their wives and daughters.
A spokesman for the Woodcarvings Society said Whiston died peacefully on Wednesday.
“He had a full life, enjoyed good times and enjoyed the company of friends,” the spokesman said.
“The men shared a special bond and enjoyed working together, making friends and creating wonderful woodwork.”
A massive loss to the Woodcaring community.
“Mr Damiaen is survived by his wife and three children.
A statement from the WoodCarving Society read: “The Woodcaving Society extends its deepest condolences to the family of Randy Whistler and Patrick deMariaens, whose passing has left a massive loss and lasting impact to the Victorian Woodcarve Industry.”
A statement by the Woodcraft Society said Mr Damiaan and his wife were “the best of friends”.”
They had worked together since 1988.
They enjoyed making friends, sharing knowledge, and building a strong and loyal network in Melbourne.
“Their knowledge and experience made them invaluable in many of their jobs.”
